LES STUBBS Probably the best player Wakering ever produced as Les joined the club after the war and went on to get the highest honour in league football when he won a first division championship medal with CHELSEA in 1955. Les came back to "THE ROVERS" via SOUTHEND UNITED and BEDFORD TOWN and played a very signifcant part in the highly successful ROVERS side that dominated local football in the sixties and early seventies. Les lives in retirement with Jean still in Great Wakering and still very active cycling, walking and taking a general interest in the club.
